Eat Play Local Day

June 12, 2012

Look at this great event in Manhattan + ITS FREE! I love any sort of event that teaches children about food - where it comes from, how to make it and this one looks extremely thoughtful!

Join Edible Manhattan and the Children’s Museum of Manhattan for this child-friendly open house in celebration of Eat Drink Local Week.  There will be nutritious and delicious food and drink samples and plenty of helpful information for parents on how to keep their children healthy while still pleasing their taste buds.

Cricket Azima of The Creative Kitchen will be teaming up with Organic Valley to prepare the Mixed Up Sandwich featuring American Singles from Organic Valley (who will also be on hand with plenty of milk to wash down the sandwiches!)

Tori Kass of the Children’s Museum of Manhattan will be teaching us about fruit and vegetables in a fun and engaging new way!

Brewla Bars will be bringing their incredible popsicles, the Hero (cherry pomegranate red tea) and the Doctor (craft brewed root beer float) for the kids along with a grown-up version for the adults, made with hops!

Whole Foods Market will help us keep cool and healthy with the Get Your Greens on Smoothie!

Meatless Monday will teach us how eliminating one day of meat from our diets can make a world of a difference.

This event is free with paid admission to the museum.  Please RSVP to info@ediblemanhattan.com for additional details.
