Giftguide: for the littles (Ages 3-6)

Back in the day when I worked on gift guides for kids at RealSimple Family the hardest age to curate gifts for was past age 5/6ish. Forget the tweens. At this point kids usually have a strong sense of what they want and they are pretty steadfast on their 'toy' list.

This is why I like seeking out gifts for the wee ones, you can still 'encourage' their toy selection a bit and usually they are at that fun stage where they love what Santa/Mom/Dad picks.

Here are 8 picks from MB for the little ones..

1. Think modern View Master with this cardboard gadget I saw at the Google Holiday preview. It is pretty darn cool and worth reading about. At under $25 it is a cool gift to give an older kid or use with if younger. Also come in fun designs for the holidays for under $30.  Knox V2 - Google I/O 2015

2. For the Dinosaur minimalist in your life. I love the simplicity of this jigsaw puzzle. The plus is it is made with non-toxic water based ink. Via Sweet William (3+)

3.A brand sent one of these to me at work and grown women loved sitting by my desk just so they could hop on it. Old school fun for the littles. GYMNIC HOP via Yoyo.com (3-5)

4. I'm obsessed with all things Seedling. This brand really works at teaching kids about cultivating creativity in their play and their kits are fun! SEEDLING illuminate your night - design you own glowing light globe Via Sweet William  (Age 3-8)

5. A mama can always count on Darling Clementine to have a well curated pick of toys for the wee ones. Giant Puzzle - Leon the Dragon (Age 5 +) via Darling Clementine

6. The perfect book about books for children and grownups. If giving the tablet a break is a goal this year...this book will make your case on why loving books is cool. Books via Smoochie Baby

7. Oh stars! *Lace 10 animal constellations... turn out the lights to see the glow in the dark creations. Animals in the Stars Lacing Cards via Amazon (Ages 3-5) *Not for under age 3 as these can be a choking hazard.

8. Two Tone rhythm box with one side sounds like a Bongo and when flipped over the other side a Snare Drum. PlanToys use recycled wood from expired rubber wood trees to create wooden toys. Eco-friendly . PLANTOYS RHYTHM BOX MUSIC TOY via YoYo (3-6)
