Style ease January 30 2017, 0 Comments

I am in a new phase work wise where I am trying to get a handle of my schedule so my family has a less stress madre. I am working on projects I love and feel passionate about and this is what I hope all the years of hard work has led me to. One thing I get to do is meet a fellow mother or a work friend for an early morning coffee at least once a week if my schedule permits. Living in this part of Brooklyn the style quota is pretty high. Just the other morning at a cafe I had never been to in Williamsburg the place seem to be oozing style with little effort. Even the relax style was stylish.

It was inspiring and I care about how I present myself... hey... early morning no work drop offs are another story and I never judge a mother I see in pajama pants, I am frankly jealous! I don't think pjs are in my future as I always have some kind of event or meeting to get too but there are more days now where my style can be more relaxed and comfort can be part of it. Not that the 3/4 inch heels are gone for good, I still have meetings where I can't wear a clog or a jean, however I can have fun on the days no heels are required.

Here are 6 items that I'm loving to help me embrace my new work life:

Chloe Sweater ( this sweater is for inspiration as it's quite spendy however it's so pretty I couldn't resist. Now Zara take note!)

The Race Clog (call stores for availability) via Madewell

Bandana via Madewell

Every Mother Counts Tote Bag via Clare V

Flowing Top via Zara

Enamel Vista Necklace via Jessica Wenzelberg

Giftguide: for mom November 25 2015, 0 Comments

It is hard to believe we are here again with the holiday season. I love gift guides , however some of them have gotten out of hand. Let's do one for the world traveler, the stay at home mom. Really... my girlfriend who stays at home doesn't want a nice bag? I think maybe YES she does.

So as an season editor (yup, I can say that) I do gift guides the way I like them and how I think my friends would like to see them. Which leads me to this one. A thread I hope is always woven into this site is that we are from Brooklyn and want to share a slice of our lives/style with not only Brooklyn mothers but all parents. Which means for our first gift guide (of the season) let's start with picks that represent.

These 10 picks are either made in Brooklyn, sold from Brooklyn or designed and maybe all the above. I adore this place and hope you love the picks that you can give your partner, friend or yourself.

Happy Shopping.

8 Pieces for the New Year's Eve Mama December 24 2013, 0 Comments

I have a hard time buying for one occasion as I hate to part with $ for a piece that is fantastic yet cost an entire season of soccer classes for my son. When I do have to shop for a festive piece I try to shop for pieces that will get some wear in a less dressy world. Not always easy, case in point, last year's sequin top, rarely worn this year however sequins are in for the summer (get ready!) so I will be wearing my sequin tee with white jeans and sandals come warmer weather. My best advice is if you are going somewhere and you are itching to treat yourself to something fab, do, you deserve it. If you are looking to make something in your closet work then take the item that you love and up the ante a bit with either a great accessory or a clothing item that is on the dressy side. My favorite accessory to add is a necklace or an amazing heel that doesn't feel too trendy yet is chic enough that it is going to move my outfit to the level I would like for a rare night out. When I buy a going out piece it is usually with out fail a solid and in a neutral hue. This allows me to dress it up or down and most importantly to wear it to work and yes I will drop off the boy in some faux leather leggings. I just add the comfy mom sweater to the mix.

A few of my picks!

1. Faux leather dress via Zara (selling out fast, call store for size, Mango has a great one, also love this non faux leather dress)

2. Daisy Sequin Top via Piperlime

3. Faded Jeans, from Barneys to H&M you can find a faded jean in your price range. Polyvore is great for searching.

4. DIY Beaded bib necklace via Ps I Made This

5. Maternity Tailored Blazer via Topshop

6. Maternity Leather Look Front Leggings via Topshop

7. Polka Dot Chiffon Jumpsuit via Mango is selling fast, here is another great style.
