Avocado Margaritas

June 19, 2012

I was reminded of these jewels from a friend’s facebook thread! Avocado margaritas are decadent and creamy, like an alcoholic milkshake. I never would have thought to make my own but I looked up the recipe and its so simple. We’re headed down to Viriginia for a family reunion so I might have to whip up a batch (or three) of these for poolside sipping.

Avocado Margaritas
(courtsey of Curras which is a mandatory stop if visiting Austin)

1 ripe and delicious avocado
¼ cup fresh lemon or lime juice
2 cups crushed ice
½ cup tequila
¼ cup triple sec
1 teaspoon agave or honey

Put in a blender and turn it on. It’s so simple; that’s why we love it. Then, rub the rim of the glass with lime and dip in a coarse sea salt and chili pepper mix. Sit back with some friends and enjoy the smooth goodness.
