Eating in the city: Nibble + squeak

January 14, 2016

Since eating is one of our favorite past times but as you know once you have kids eating and how/where is a whole new world. Erica and I are always looking for places that we can bring the kids, yet feel like are old selves meaning...eat well (we are both foodies), and maybe even have a conversation. This is where Melissa Elders comes in. A mama who after living abroad in London for almost ten years, working in international publishing moved back to her home turf here in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Now working in event management Melissa has started Nibble + squeak.

Like most parents who start a business, especially one that focuses around being a parent, Melissa found Nibble + squeak through her experience of being a mama. Always bringing her daughter everywhere she went when it came to eating she always ate delish food yet while wearing her babe…as most of us know when the kids are at the wee stage most meals are on the go. This lead Melissa to join a local group of "babies who lunch” which is when she that she realized that lunch didn't always have to be on-the-go or fast.

The only thing is when moving back to NYC a similar group was not to be found. Enter Nibble+squeak the solution to get parents (and other care takers) to treat themselves to some special meals with like-minded company. To normalize restaurant dining with pipsqueaks-in-tow.  To help restaurants show their family-friendly side in a calm and relaxed environment. To bring delicious meals to the daytime crowd. Working with some of the top restaurants in NYC to create a comfortable haven for families: private rooms and restaurant buy-outs, custom menus, daytime openings, plus high chairs, changing mats, stroller parking and the opportunity to meet new friends this is a parents solution to entering back into the land of sitting down and eating amazing food little ones in tow. Checkout their next event that will be here in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
