My Thanksgiving Menu

November 21, 2012

As I’m sure you can tell, I’m quite fond of cooking and Thanksgiving provides an opportunity to play with new menu dishes as well as keep the old faves. Thought it might be fun to share my menu:

Turkey: Bought from an Amish farm in PA, this 22-lber looks divine. I’m going to pop it in this Pioneer Woman brine in our fancy Brooklyn Kitchen clay pot! And if you want to know a super dirty secret… I use the bag! Its just so easy and awesome!

Stuffing: We do a normal breadcrumb one but add sliced black olives and green chile. Yummmmm! Its easily my favorite dish.

Potatoes: I do mashed. So hard to beat a mashed potato…. I personally love a splash of roasted garlic, chives and a dollop of sour cream! We used to love wasabi mashed potatoes but since having kids, we’ve toned it down!

Sweet Potatoes: This year I’m going to play a bit and do these hallelbacks from Brooklyn Supper. Don’t they look so so good!

Veggie: This year we’re going to skip the green bean casserole and do brussel sprouts with bacon and walnuts. Super easy!

Dessert: PIE CORPS! We got the pecan butterscotch apple and the chocolate custard pie with fresh whipped cream. Think that may easily be the best part….

We tend to skip the rolls and do this easy cranberry relish and wine. Simple, delicious and super duper filling!

Happy Thanksgiving to All!
