Last minute swimsuits...

July 01, 2013

If you have found yourself ill prepared for a swimsuit this summer you are not alone. I found myself squeezing into one the other day despite the fact that I was surrounded by them at work for months. My sister in law bought one the other day at Caribou Baby which led to this post of where you can find a well made suit and fast!

Here are a few resources that you can shop in our neighborhood and online.

If you need a great suit NOW:

In Greenpoint (and online:) Maternity and nursing suits:Caribou Baby carries well designed swimsuits by Boob Design (Left Picture) and a flattering two piece by Ingrid and Isabel that are chic designs for maternity and nursing mamas.

WilliamsburgPilgrim Surf Shop: I grew up going to beach shops for my swimsuit, so I'm excited we now have this resource here. You'll find many swim lines such as Prism, Basta and Summer Bummer. $100 and up.

Online Resources:

There are many great online resources however only a few can guarantee a next day or 2 day delivery. Order today (or tomorrow) for delivery before the 4th.

Net a porter and The Outnet (middle pictured Melissa Odabash brown suit): Designer swimsuits if you aren't fooling around and want to be the style maven on the beach. If you reside in New Jersey and New York for a $25 fee you can receive same day. I have done the free shipping ground option and received within two days.

Shopbop (Two piece printed suit pictured Mara Hoffman): Free 3 day shipping and $10 for 2 day , $25 for next. A wide selection of suits with a contemporary vibe.

Visit the store:

Love the suits here but better to visit the brick and mortar then ship if you're in a time crunch.

Old Navy-  I pulled many a Old Navy swim suits for my June magazine shoot and they are great suits however I recommend trying them on. I just bought a chic suit for $19. Yup, that's where we're at with $ when you have summer camp tuition. Also, if you are plus size, Old Navy has one of the best selections (at an affordable price range) out there.

Jcrew- Love Jcrew and guarantee there are some well made suit styles that you can mix or match. Pick one of their ruching suits that make you look a size smaller if like me you didn't work out much this past winter.

Feel free to email (motherburg @gmail.com), tweet or FB me if you have any swim fit questions. I am surrounded by hundreds every year for the annual swim story and work on all body types and brands.
