I recently spoke with Hosh Yoga yoga teacher Henry Cross on their mission for kids and the classes they will be offering this fall.
MB: What is Hosh Yoga and how did it come about?
HY: Hosh Yoga is a non-profit all volunteer Yoga studio based in Greenpoint founded in April 2009 by Hamid Elsevar. It's mission is health and wellness as a right of life rather than a luxury.We are currently sharing that mission with children, adults, and seniors. Hosh Kids was born in the Fall of 2012 in collaboration with Henry Cross offering an affordable and arts on a budget option for parents and schools in Brooklyn.
MB: What ages do you cater to?
HY: Our studio program offer classes for 18mo-2s and 3-5 years old. Our school programs offers classes for pre-schools, elementary, and middle schools.
MB: What kind of classes will you be holding for fall?
HY: We will be holding yoga and creative movement classes for the studio program this fall.
Our schedule for fall:
Monday
3:15-4:00 Little Dancers (3-5 years old)
4:15-5:00 Creative Movement (18mo-2 years old)
Wednesday
3:15-4:00 Little Yogis (3-5 years old)
4:15-5:00 Baby Yogis (18mo-2 years old)
MB: What sorts of classes are you planning for the future?
HY: We look forward to expanding programming to martial arts in the spring and summer of 2014.
