Maurice Sendak
When I heard that Mr. Sendak passed away this morning I let out a long ohhh. While I wasn’t ever really a huge fan as a child; my grandparents were! They both wrote and illustrated children’s books and Sendak was their idol. He embodied everything a child’s author was supposed to be: outspoken, honest and true to children. There will never be men like Sendak again but lucky for us, his books will live on.
