This image is from a shoot I did of beautiful Kiley for Mother’s Day. Her grandmother wanted to surprise her Mom. She is 15 months old. My goal is it to take image that are as natural as possible. I love to shoot outside at parks, creeks or just city streets. The image should say something. And that’s the tricky part about children photography. I don’t want the kids to pose or to just to sit and smile but I am looking to capture emotions instead. So I found out from shooting so many beautiful kids that it helps to have a simple prop. Not that I really want them to pose with the prop but it helps to have them just play with it. This way the child just focuses on the prop (in this case this awesome vintage rocking horse) and I get very natural images.
