Summer guide: 7 Summer shoes for kids (updated) May 30 2016
It's official Summer is here which means school is almost out. In the next week we will be sharing posts for our Summer Guide. We broke it down this year and will share in individual posts then gather them all together in one click so you can revisit our (hopefully) helpful information.
I think all kids shoe brands should have New York City kids road test their shoe styles as truly these kids must be some of the most active out there. With hot concrete surfaces, miles walked in city adventures and rivers with rocky surfaces summer shoes really need to fit the summer shoebill in many categories.
Here are MB’s picks for summer shoes for your kiddos (Updated 2016):
When Native shoes were at their peak you could find cheap imposters at all the chain stores. Now that the trend has died there are a few options there but they are limited and frankly not as sturdy. This shoe being copied doesn't diminish the want for this shoe for us at all. It is a well built shoe that is perfect for the kid in camp, who will be traveling or is just all around an active child. When your child is in camp you may not always know if they are hitting the water park or having a dance off with fellow campers. This style covers all possibilities of the summer kid in my book. Another sneaker as not all kids will wear sandals or again, camps will not allow. Canvas Slip Ons via Zara and (not pictured) Old Navy. If you are worried about a slip on or sneaker overheating try this cotton perforated version from (blush photo) Zara.
FOR THE WEE ONES
We find sneakers the best option especially with a toddler just starting to run wild. You'll apprciate a more sturdy shoe when going through the aiport, visiting an amusement park etc. With an elastic side for easy one and off which is helpful when you need to get a shoe on and off...fast. For the girl who refuses to wear crocs these are a stylish alternative. Jelly Shoes via Old Navy
Great option for a pools surface and hot sandy beaches. Water Shoes for Baby via Old Navy
GOOD FOR UNEVER, ROCKY SURFACES
Rubber insoles and soles work better on pebble surfaces and slippery surfaces. The fabric material gives room to breathe yet the shoes fastens on and off with sturdy velcro for strong hold. H&M Sandals. Also pink Scuba Sandals version via H&M
